Working Sustainably
Sadie R Benning is very conscious of the climate crisis and strongly believes we should all do our part to preserve and protect the environment. The creative industry can be wasteful, so here are some ways in which she ensures to work more sustainably:
• Working using recycled materials (such as paper and card)
• Only buying what she needs
• Saving leftover materials for use in future projects
• Using old scrap paper and unwanted drawings for collaging, painting over, or for constructing mock up books.
• Recycling whenever possible.
• Often researching and note taking digitally to avoid paper waste.
• Avoiding unnecessary printing.
• Supporting eco friendly and local brands.
• Switching products for more environmentally friendly alternatives. For example: using the most ethical glues, or choosing biodegradable glitter.
• Buying props secondhand and rehoming them afterwards, if possible.
